The Sea to Sky corridor between Vancouver and Whistler is a world renowned outdoor adventure playground - mountain biking, sea kayaking, white water rafting, hiking, canoeing, rock and mountain climbing - we have it all and mostly to a world class level. The centre of the Sea to Sky region is Squamish, the 'Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada'..
This short vacation samples some of the activities that draw people from around the world to come to Squamish with an activity or two each day. It's not all exhausting fun and games though as our guides will also help showcase some of the incredible scenery that abounds in this area with visits to some of our beautiful local parks, waterfalls, scenic lookouts and even some wildlife viewing. We'll show you the best of the Squamish area with a local's passion and enthusiasm.
DAY ONE - Saturday - Your Squamish experience starts at 9am with an incredible white water rafting adventure on the Elaho River with Sunwolf Adventures. The Elaho is a remote wilderness river accessed via logging road, the scenery is stunning and the rapids such as the Devil's Elbow are up to class IV.
After the exhilaration of rafting we will slow the pace down with a scenic tour of some spectacular local waterfalls and the opportunity to view some of our most famous local denizens - black bears (May, June and September only for bear viewing).
DAY TWO - Sunday - Day two begins back on the water with our Levette Lake & Rainforest Experience where we visit this spectacular lake nestled high above Paradise Valley for a leisurely Sunday morning paddle.
Squamish is renowned as a centre for rock climbing due to the presence of the Stawamus Chief a 600m (2000') granite monolith that people come from all over the world to climb. Your second adventure of the day will be an introductory climbing course in Smoke Bluffs Park where you will experience single pitch top roped climbing.
DAY THREE - Monday - Our focus switches to hiking. During the spring we will make the journey up the Squamish Valley to do the High Falls Creek Trail, a locals favourite for early season hiking. Once the snow has cleared in the alpine (probably around July 1st) we will switch to the Watersprite Lake hike.
Please bear in mind that the itinerary may change due to weather considerations or other unforeseen events. In the event of not being able to do a particular activity for safety reasons we will substitute another comparable activity. It is also possible to substitute different activities should you not wish to participate in a certain one, just ask and we will arrange it for you.
