What We Strive For

We’re a small company so each and every client is important to us. It is your trip or vacation and your satisfaction is our ultimate objective. Our aim is to give you the best trip and the best memories you could possibly imagine.

Those Little Extras

We want our clients to be able to participate in one of our trips without having had to bring large amounts of heavy and expensive gear with them. Maybe you're in BC visiting relatives or you're on a mostly city based tour but you'd like to see some of the great Canadian wilderness during your time here. With us you don't need to invest in a great deal of expensive equipment. You don't need to have used up your luggage allowance on sleeping bags and other items. We make everything as easy as possible for you to step out into the great Canadian outdoors.

Therefore we don't rent equipment to our clients, we simply provide it, almost everything bar your boots and backpack (and we'll even provide that if you really need one). When we provide camping equipment it is top quality gear from major name brands such as The North Face, MEC and Thermarest. It's these little extras and the thought we put in that make our tours so different and so special.

We also pick you up at your hotel at the beginning of your trip and drop you off at the end so there are no hidden transport costs. If you look at how much it can cost to get to some of the trailheads for hiking trips you will realise that this represents a substantial saving (e.g. take a look at the logistics of getting to Gold River to hike the Nootka Island Trail). BC is a big province, so make things easier on yourself by letting us organise your transport.

What We Believe In

As a firm whose tours revolve around the natural wonders of British Columbia, we rightly have a strong environmental ethic. No tourism based firm can be perfect in this regard. Our guests must fly or drive to visit us and we must use vehicles and, yes, sometimes even planes or helicopters to access trailheads. Short of not running the business we cannot have a totally neutral impact on the environment.

However, even if it's impossible to make no impact, we can at least aim to make as little impact on the environment as possible. Consequently we practice the low impact 'leave-no-trace' philosophy in both the front and backcountry. In essence, as far as is possible, we "take only memories and leave only footprints." In addition we support and donate to conservation and environmental groups (such as the Ancient Forest Alliance and the Wilderness Committee) that seek to preserve the natural wonders of British Columbia. We are also currently being audited by Green Tourism for our sustainability award.

If you have any questions at all about our policies, please contact us and we'll do our very best to answer them for you.
